Congressman Ryan Zinke's efforts to secure nearly $35 million directly to 12 separate Western Montana infrastructure, rural development, and public safety projects have come to fruition with the signing of the Consolidated Appropriations Act into law. In a statement, Zinke expressed his pride in advocating for critical infrastructure projects in Montana, emphasizing the importance of addressing issues such as deteriorating bridges, road improvements, and enhanced law enforcement equipment.

Zinke worked closely with various communities and tribes to address their specific needs, including collaborating with the Blackfeet Nation to establish a youth center in Browning. Marvin Weatherwax, former Blackfeet Tribal Council Chairman, commended Zinke's commitment, stating, "Congressman Zinke has demonstrated a commitment to the Blackfeet Nation which quite frankly has outpaced Indian Health Service."

Among the notable projects funded are the Blackfeet Nation Tribal Center Project, Beaverhead County Bridge Rehabilitation Project, and Kalispell Two Mile Drainage Improvement Project. Various community leaders expressed their gratitude for Zinke's dedication in securing funding for essential projects. Pam Holmquist, Flathead County Commissioner, thanked Zinke for prioritizing public safety, while Mark Johnson, Kalispell Mayor, praised Zinke's support in improving infrastructure in the region.

Tom Seifert, Glacier County Undersheriff, highlighted Zinke's attentive approach to addressing the needs of local law enforcement, stating, "It’s fantastic to know we have a representative working for our state who actually wants to help." Similarly, Mike McGinley, Beaverhead County Commissioner, appreciated Zinke's efforts in delivering crucial funding for their community projects.

The funding for these projects was made possible through the U.S. House of Representatives Community Project Funding policy, which allows Members of the House to propose local projects for funding. Zinke's successful advocacy for these projects showcases the impact of elected officials working to address the needs of their constituents.

Overall, Zinke's collaborative approach and dedication to addressing the infrastructure and safety needs of Western Montana communities have been met with appreciation and support from local leaders and residents alike.
