(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Congressman Ryan Zinke has introduced a resolution expressing Congressional disapproval of President Biden’s planned carbon tax. The resolution highlights the potential negative impacts that would arise from implementing a carbon tax. It emphasizes the increased energy costs that consumers would have to bear in order to power their vehicles, homes, and businesses. It also points out the downstream effects on industries such as manufacturing, transportation, and construction, as well as the potential rise in the costs of food and goods. Moreover, the resolution raises concerns about further solidifying China's role in manufacturing "green" technologies to meet Biden's climate agenda.

According to Congressman Zinke, "Nobody does energy cleaner, better, safer, and cheaper than we do it here in the United States." He argues that a carbon tax would burden not only energy producers but also farmers and American consumers who are already struggling with rising inflation. Zinke asserts that American energy producers are constantly innovating and improving production efficiency while reducing emissions. He believes that the United States should not be subservient to environmental extremists and should not be financially supporting foreign entities when it has the capability to excel domestically.

The resolution has garnered support from several co-sponsors, including Steve Scalise (LA-01), Scott Perry (PA-10), Mike Bost (IL-12), Andrew Clyde (GA-09), Dan Crenshaw (TX-02), Scott Perry (PA-10), Andrew Ogles (TN-05), Ronny Jackson (TX-13), Mary Miller (IL-15), Doug Lamborn (CO-05), and Claudia Tenney (NY-24).

This resolution comes as part of an ongoing debate surrounding President Biden's carbon tax plan. While the plan aims to address climate change and reduce carbon emissions, critics argue that it would impose additional financial burdens on the American people and potentially hinder economic growth.

As the debate on the carbon tax plan continues, it remains to be seen how Congress will respond to Congressman Zinke's resolution and what impact it will have on President Biden's climate agenda.
